Alyson Pearson, LISW
Owner
I have been a therapist since 2005, with a Master's Degree and license in Social Work. I have worked with people in many different situations, including work in a domestic violence shelter, Psychiatric Medical Institute for Children, residential treatment, a middle school, and have worked in outpatient therapy practices for 9 years with children and adults.
My specialty areas include trauma, PTSD, depression, and LGBTQIA+ issues (including transitions). I am trained and certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and have used it with great success since 2009 . It is an honor to see so much healing with EMDR, even when other types of therapy have not been successful. I also utilize ACT therapy, which is centered on allowing yourself to tolerate uncomfortable feelings, while living a life based on values. However, the therapeutic relationship is the most important part of therapy; more important than the modality of therapy.
My clients have described me as calm, laid back, down to earth, and empowering. I will not simply nod and take notes, judge you, or tell you exactly what you should do. If we are a good match, I'd love to walk with you on the journey of healing. When you're ready, email or call to see if we'd be a good fit.
I accept Blue Cross, United Healthcare, Cigna, and Sisco/QCCH.
